"I just wanted to write and let you know how much
I'm enjoying my workouts at the Pilates Center of St. Louis. I
try to make it to Beth's Tower class at least once a week - I wish
I could go more often! The class is great because while the moves
are challenging, Beth gives clear instructions which are easy to
follow. I can usually judge the success of my pilates workout the
day or two afterwards - I feel muscles in my abdominal area I did
not know existed. I've also taken a few Reformer classes that I've
enjoyed as well. I can definitely see changes in my abdominals,
legs and arms and I feel stronger and healthier. Plus, the studio
offers such a collaborative, peaceful environment that I definitely
find myself leaving in a good mood. Keep up the good work!"

"Many thanks to the Pilates and Yoga Center. At the urging of a physical
therapist, due to frustration with what I could no longer physically do, I decided
to try out pilates as I was rehabbing from ankle surgeries and nursing a back
sore from scoliosis and slippage. I had uneven balance in my legs and just walking
around a track had become burdensome. After playing tennis for many years, sitting
was not an option I wanted. Pilates had me back walking at the track within a
few months and now, after two years, my pain level is so low that pain is no
longer my number one thought when I get up every morning! I am surprised weekly
with the increase in my strength and balance. The studio is very welcoming and
works with you on your level, encouraging you to do what is right for you and
your own body. They teach an awareness of yourself and your body that carries
over far beyond your studio time. It helps every day in everything I do. I thank
Karen and Beth for all they have taught me. I never would have imagined all the
benefits that pilates offers."

I've been taking a weekly reformer class for almost a year, and find it combines coaching, personal training, and physical therapy. The class is fun and a wonderful workout, with lots of nice stretching incorporated. I really appreciate the core and back-strengthening benefits and find the Pilates Center a friendly place as well."

"The Pilates & Yoga Center of St. Louis has been a nice oasis of calm for my health and wellness for years. I went through three pregnancies here practicing yoga during pregnancy, with Pilates and yoga afterwards. It really helped me get back into shape and gave me the stress relief I needed while starting a business venture of my own."

"I have been receiving Pilates lessons from the Pilates Center of St. Louis for the past four years. These lessons have been extremely helpful for my lower back pain and my over-all well-being. I am a Clinical Psychologist and over the past four years I have referred more than 10 people for stress reduction, achievement of appropriate body image, weight loss and physical strengthening. Clients with depression, anxiety and eating disorder problems have benefited from repeated visits to the Center."

"At age 64 I met with Karen Prechtl at the suggestion of a friend who knew that given my age, health story (heart attack in my late 40's, diabetes), and stress level, that Pilates might be of great benefit. Now 3 years later I am a regular twice-a-week Pilates student. All the instructors have been attentive, smart, careful and encouraging. They have helped me reach a level of fitness that is still amazing to me. My weight, heart rate, diabetes control and energy levels are all on target, making my doctors and me exceptionally happy. Also the program has improved my balance, reduced my stress level and increased my level of confidence in my physical abilities. Karen has stayed involved in my progress and sets a professional yet personal tone for the studio that is consistently warm and friendly. Trying this Pilates remains one of the best decisions I have made in recent years."

"I came to the Pilates Center of St. Louis a year ago needing an alternative to my previous exercise routines, which were leaving me injured routinely. I never expected to find such amazing people and such a refuge. I have had a difficult year and through it all, the Center has become a haven for peace, relaxation, and focused exercise. Oh, how I love Pilates!"
